Dental Sealants

The application of sealants is a simple procedure during which a tooth-colored “coating” is applied to the surface of the tooth. This effectively seals any deep grooves in the tooth, acting as a barrier and protecting the tooth from harmful plaque and acids. Sealants are highly effective in helping to prevent decay on the biting surface of the teeth. They wear well under the force of normal chewing and last several years before needing to be replaced.
