Teeth Whitening

Tooth whitening can restore your smile to its previous brilliance with just a small investment on your part. Tooth discoloration can occur as a result of many things, but is most often a result of drinking coffee, tea and other dark beverages over time. In addition if, during the formation of your teeth, you were exposed to tetracycline or other antibiotics you may experience discolored or mottled staining.

After your initial examination in our office, it will be determined if you are a candidate for tooth whitening. It is imperative that you be in good periodontal health prior to beginning a whitening treatment. Tooth whitening is also not recommended for patients younger than 13 years of age or women who are pregnant or lactating.

We will match your teeth to a shade guide and take impressions of your teeth so that your custom whitening trays can be fabricated. Our whitening trays are made of a soft, pliable material that are comfortable to wear. During a follow-up appointment we will deliver your trays and whitening materials to you and discuss any further questions you might have. Some patients experience sensitivity during whitening treatments. We recommend that you use a toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth during your treatment, which will be provided to you. Sensitivity subsides with interruption or completion of the treatment.
