A fluoride treatment is a topical application that is designed to protect your teeth from decay. Fluoride is a natural element that has the ability to remineralize areas of the teeth that have begun to decay, and to stop further progression.
Most of Rochester’s water is drawn from the Jordan Aquifer and is fluoridated. Fluoride treatments are recommended at each 6 month visit to continue to protect your teeth from decay.
If you have concerns that your drinking water might not be fluoridated, please ask our staff to assist you in obtaining a test kit from Olmsted County.
